Everyone has a reputation, but not everyone has a personal brand. Learning how to build an online personal brand is the intentional act of defining the reputation you want to have and taking action to make sure that everyone who interacts with you leaves that interaction with the right impression. 

In the digital world, those interactions can happen directly with you or with the content and digital assets you own (website, social media profiles, etc.).

Building a personal brand, in many cases, is associated with self-promotion and fame. While there are certain instances where that is true, this is not how or why I build personal brands.

For me, a personal brand is about the value you can create for others. You should promote your ideas with the goal of creating positive change for whoever interacts with them.

I believe that our business should support our lifestyle instead of having to build our lifestyle around our business.

Yes, we all need to make money to put food on the table and have shelter. But business success cannot come at the sacrifice of your lifestyle. That kind of success is meaningless.

You’ve probably experienced something similar. You decided to start a business to have more freedom and flexibility, and ended up working more hours than before.

And at first, you were OK with that. You knew it was part of the initial effort of getting your business off the ground. But when will it end?

Content Audit & Strategy

 

In the audit, we’ll ensure that all the blogs you’ve written rank in the top 5 for some of the keywords it is already ranking for. This is low-hanging fruit.

We will also map your ideal customer journey with goals, milestones, and key performance indicators that we will track to make sure that each step we take is getting us closer to positioning you as the go-to thought leader in your niche. 

Price: As you see on our pricing page, this part of the process starts at $5,000.

Timeline: This can take as little as a couple of weeks and as much as eight weeks. 

If it takes longer, it’s not because the work takes that long. It usually takes longer because of the difficulty of finding time to schedule meetings, workshops, and receive your feedback on the work we do.

 

Customer’s Journey Map

 

You might already have one. If that is the case, and it’s working, then we will just help you attract more people to that journey. 

If you haven’t defined one, we will help you do so and build a dashboard that allows us to track it. Basically, we want to see how people are moving from searching to consuming your content to booking a call with you.

 

Website

 

Without a good website, it’s difficult to achieve everything we’ve mentioned so far.

  • Decent site speed

If one of these elements is not present, we will likely need to do a website redesign. If that is the case, the price of website development starts at $10,000 and will go up depending on the number of pages and functionality that the website requires. 

 

Topic Selection

 

This is our favorite part of every engagement. Here we build the list of topics we want to rank for through the content we create together. 

Using the niche selection as a baseline, we will conduct more profound research to identify the topics we need to cover to ensure we attract the right people to your website. 

Some of the variables we use to pick topics are: 

  • Search volume
  • Search difficulty
  • Cost per click
  • Search intent

Once we have conducted the research, we will schedule a meeting to review the list with you. Together, we will pick the topics that will be prioritized. 

We can also include topics that come from customer insights that you might have from current clients or the meetings you conduct with prospective clients.

 

Content Creation Process

 

We want you to be efficient and effective with the way you use your time. 

For that reason, we simplify the content creation process. In this phase, we will go over the steps we take to create content and where your input is needed. 

We will also create options for the baseline design and production components of the video. We don’t want you to spend a lot of time reviewing every single piece of content we do. 

For that reason, we help you pick the baseline elements once (video intro, outro, music, transitions, etc.). Then, all the content we create will follow the guidelines that are established here. 

That way, you won’t have to review every single video.

We will also go over the steps you’ll need to take to work with the teleprompter app we use and decide the background you’ll use to record your videos. 

Basically, we want to measure twice but cut only once. 

 

YouTube Creation + Intro Video

 

If you don’t have a YouTube channel, we will help you create one. Also, we will create an introduction video that we can use as the home video for your channel. 

This video will help us do a sample run of the recording and production process. 

 

Strategy Summary

 

The main component of our strategy, what we do differently than most personal branding agencies, is the topic selection and content creation process. 

Ideally, we can jump staring into this step after the discovery. We can’t do so if you don’t have a website or a customer’s journey map. 

 

Content Creation & Optimization

 

This is where we create and distribute the content that will position you as the go-to thought leader in your niche. 

Price: As you see on our pricing page, the price of this part of the process represents a $1,000 monthly investment. This is the fee for each content package. We recommend that you create at least two pieces of content per month. That would be a monthly investment of $2,000.

Timeline: Finalizing a content package can take as little as one week and as much as four weeks.

If it takes longer, it’s not because the work takes that long. It usually takes longer because of the time it takes you to give feedback and record the videos. 

 

Monthly Content Creation

 

Each of our content packages includes:

  • One blog of at least 1,800 words
  • Uploading the blog to your website 
  • Creating an easy-to-follow process for you to share the content on LinkedIn
  • Making the necessary changes to rank the content #1 on our target keywords

Our work is not done when the content is created. It is done when the content is attracting your ideal clients. We measure this with keyword ranking and clicks. 

Part of the work of our content package is monitoring each piece of content to make tweaks and updates until it is ranking well.

We can create as little as one content package for you or as many as are required on a monthly basis. We recommend at least two monthly to show consistency to the Google and YouTube algorithms. 

 

Distribution Recommendations

 

We will also create a document where you can easily find the video files, as well as some caption recommendations so that you can share the content on LinkedIn. 

We will also recommend the level of engagement you should have on LinkedIn if you want to use the platform as another channel to attract clients and build relationships.  

 

Data Analytics (Search Console + Ubersuggest + GA4)

 

As I mentioned before, our work is done when the content achieves the goals we set out to accomplish.

Therefore, we create robust data analytics dashboards to make data-driven decisions. 

We use Google Search Console to monitor the traffic each blog is generating on a daily basis. 

With Google Analytics 4 and Looker Studio (formerly known as Google Data Studio), we set up a dashboard to monitor all the main checkpoints of your customer journey map. 

And with Ubersuggest, we monitor the ranking of our targetted keywords.

 

Optimization (Content + Customer Journey)

 

Once those dashboards are in place, we check them on a weekly basis to make sure that we are maximizing the value of the content we create for you. 

This is where we identify opportunities to create videos for your landing pages, educational pieces of content to increase conversions or any other change that is necessary to make sure that we are turning traffic into appointments.
